Gillian Clegg is co-compiler of the archive for the Chiswick House and Garden Trust. She has lived in Chiswick for 35 years and is the author of many articles and books about the area, including Chiswick Past and The Chiswick Book Past and Present.Gillian Clegg

Gillian trained as a librarian and worked as such for the advertising agency J Walter Thompson, Campaign and the Consumers’ Association before becoming an editor and writer.

For the last 20 years she has specialised in archaeological and historical publishing. She was the Production Editor for the London and Middlesex Archaeological Society’s Transactions for 10 years and editor of the Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society’s Journal from 1995 to 2008. She has written many articles mainly about local history and set up a website, listed on our Links page which covers some of her research about the area. She has also designed exhibitions for the West London Museums Group and the Chiswick House and Gardens Trust.
