We asked Merlyn about this piece's name. "In Hong Kong, life was tough in some of the remote villages, and populations moved to town, or to run Chinese restaurants overseas, leaving behind the old things. A friend, Ruy, and I would go and explore these old deserted villages, and 30 years later, I was visiting Ruy and there was the old chair we had rescued all those years ago – Ruy’s chair."
