"Although the subject is the same as Asters Bouquet, the techniques for watercolour, and in this case oils, are completely different.  Oil painting generally starts with the dark and gets lighter, and watercolour starts light (white paper usually) and goes dark. It is confusing at times, as the whole approach and process is different. In this painting of asters there is a much “woollier”  impressionistic effect. I love the scent of the flowers too."
